Shipping & FAQ

We hope the following helps with answering any questions you have but please feel free to get in touch if there's something that's not covered, or you'd just like to say hi.

Ordering

- How does the ordering process work?

Each piece is made to order so we require a turnaround time of approximately 28 days from the date of ordering to shipping out your finished piece. This can change depending on the casting & hallmarking processes for each piece, so it can sometimes be sooner for smaller items that don't need to be sent off to hallmark.

We also have ready made stock in the store for some of our pieces, so check each listing for a description on the predicted turnaround times for the piece.

If you need your piece for a certain date we are more than happy to try and accommodate, we know that things can't always be planned in advance, so feel free to drop us an email when ordering and we can let you know what would be possible!

- How do I know my ring size?

Getting sized at a jewellery shop that's local to you would give you a good idea of your most comfortable fit.

Shipping

- What shipping service do you use?

We are based in the UK and use Royal Mail for our shipping, using the Tracked 24 or Next Day Special Delivery services. We send all orders with an online tracking number, which you'll receive once it's been posted out to you.

- How long does shipping take?

We aim to post out all ready made orders within 1-5 days, these are sent with Royal Mail tracked and usually arrive in 1-2 days. International delivery timescales vary, and items can sometimes take up to 4 weeks to arrive due to customs and processing.

Please note that international customs taxes may be applied to your order upon arrival and these must be covered by you as they are beyond our control.

We are currently unable to ship to EU countries due to the new tax legislation and hope to find a solution soon! : (

Production

- How do you make your jewellery?

We design and make all of our jewellery so it's completely unique, working from our workshop in London / Kent. We have multiple processes depending on the design and style of the piece.

We create CAD designed pieces, which are digital 3D designs that are then 3D printed (either by us in our workshop or by UK based 3D printing companies, depending on the needs of the individual project). The 3D printed design is then cast in precious metals (the Lost Wax Casting process) in selected UK based casting houses.

We also hand carve wax masters and then create our own moulds using the ancient method of Delft Clay Casting (clay sand is used to make a one off mould for molten metal to be poured into).

Our silver and gold bands are soldered together and shaped by hand using a hammer and ring mandrel.

- Is your brand sustainable?

We are always looking to make our jewellery and overall production more sustainable, using recycled metals when possible.

We re-use our leftover metal off-cuts and filings, which are re-melted into new pieces.

- What is your jewellery made from?

Our jewellery is made from precious metals such as 925 sterling silver, which is a silver alloy with 92.5% silver content. We don't use gold plating on our jewellery, all gold pieces are made with solid gold.

All of our jewellery over the legal weight requirement is hallmarked at The Goldsmiths' Company Assay Office who have been hallmarking in London since 1300. If you look closely at your jewellery, you'll see our makers mark 'SSD' and the historical Leopard's head stamp, which is the mark of the London Assay Office.

If you're interested in finding out more about the history of British hallmarking, you can check out the Assay Office website here.

- How do I care for my jewellery?

We believe in wearing and loving your item, which over time will create a patina that's unique to you. Sterling silver naturally tarnishes in air, so wearing your ring will actually slow down this process and keep it from turning darker. If you'd like to clean your ring, you can polish it with a soft cloth and warm water.
